What this job is about
The Logistics & Distribution Officer is responsible for the organisation of systems and components distribution between the hubs. This involves the planning and monitoring of the transport of goods as well as proper transport data administration and management.
Your tasks
  1. Working independently on defined tasks and smaller projects identified jointly with the Head of Department or Specialist, to help realize the department's objective
  2. Completing assigned tasks in line with applicable policies, guidelines, processes and procedures
  3. Contributing ideas for the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) of the department, especially where directly applicable to assigned tasks
  4. Organizing, scheduling and monitoring product and parts distributions according to orders and/or inventory levels; prioritize deliveries considering stock shortages, sales forecasts/needs; combine deliveries where possible
  5. Administering delivery notes / hard copies and digital transport data in the database; ensure physical and digital compliance of transported goods / items
  6. Organize the delivery schedules for the Delivery Officer; plan safe journeys considering time and distances

Your Qualifications
  • University degree and relevant working experience in the area of distribution, transport or logistics
  • Proficient in advanced Excel, spread sheet and database applications such as DMS Logistics
  • Comfortable with quantitative analysis
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Team player
